WordPress Website Cost in Nepal 2026: Real Prices

TL;DR: how much does a WordPress website cost in Nepal?
A WordPress website in Nepal costs about NPR 20,000 to NPR 140,000 to build. A simple starter site sits near NPR 20,000. A proper 7-page business website is around NPR 60,000. A custom-designed, bilingual site with WooCommerce and integrations is near NPR 140,000 and can go higher.
WordPress itself is free. You are paying for the person who builds it, the theme or page builder, paid plugins, hosting, a domain and the maintenance that keeps it safe. That is why a "free" platform can still produce a NPR 150,000 bill.
WordPress project | Typical build cost (NPR) | Timeline | Typical first-year total (NPR) |
|---|---|---|---|
Starter site (3 to 5 pages) | 20,000 to 40,000 | 1 to 2 weeks | 55,000 to 80,000 |
Business site (7 to 10 pages, blog, on-page SEO) | 55,000 to 90,000 | 3 to 5 weeks | 130,000 to 180,000 |
Custom design site (up to 20 pages) | 120,000 to 180,000 | 5 to 8 weeks | 230,000 to 320,000 |
WooCommerce store (up to 50 products) | 100,000 to 200,000 | 4 to 10 weeks | 250,000 to 350,000 |
First-year totals include domain, hosting, email, paid plugins, a year of maintenance and VAT. The worked budgets in this section show the arithmetic.
Five things to know before you ask for a quote:
- Recurring costs often equal or exceed the build in year one. Plan for them from day one.
- Paid plugins bill in US dollars. The rupee price moves with the exchange rate.
- Cheap WordPress quotes often use pirated ("nulled") themes. That is the biggest hidden risk in the market.
- WordPress needs maintenance. Updates, backups and security checks are not optional.
- Own your accounts. Domain, hosting and admin login should be in your name.

How much does a WordPress website cost in Nepal?
The honest range is NPR 20,000 to NPR 140,000 for the build, then NPR 50,000 to NPR 150,000 a year to keep a business site running properly once you count hosting, licences, email and maintenance.
Where you land depends on four things:
Factor | Pushes cost down | Pushes cost up |
|---|---|---|
Pages | 3 to 5 pages | 20+ pages, many layouts |
Design | Ready-made theme, light edits | Custom design and graphics |
Features | Contact form, blog | Store, booking, accounts, two languages |
Content | You supply text and photos | Agency writes, translates, photographs |
A quick budget guide:
Your budget (NPR) | What it realistically buys on WordPress |
|---|---|
Under 20,000 | A theme-based starter site from a beginner. Fine for a test, risky for a business that depends on leads. |
20,000 to 40,000 | A clean 3 to 5 page site with a contact form, basic SEO setup and analytics. |
40,000 to 90,000 | A real business site: premium theme, blog, 7 to 10 pages, on-page SEO, integrations. |
90,000 to 180,000 | Custom design, speed work, multilingual or a small WooCommerce store. |
180,000 and above | Larger stores, custom plugins, booking systems and heavier integrations. |
If you think in lakh, NPR 100,000 is 1 lakh. We write amounts like our pricing page, for example NPR 59,999.
Is WordPress really free?
The software is free. The website is not.
WordPress is open-source software, and you can download it at no cost. What you pay for is everything around it.
Cost layer | One-time or yearly | Typical range (NPR) |
|---|---|---|
Developer or agency time | One-time | 20,000 to 180,000 |
Theme or page builder licence | One-time or yearly | 0 to 15,000 |
Paid plugins | Yearly | 0 to 40,000 |
Hosting | Yearly | 2,000 to 60,000 |
Domain | Yearly | 0 to 2,400 |
Business email | Yearly | 0 to 15,000 per user |
Photos, copy, translation | One-time | 10,000 to 90,000 |
Maintenance and backups | Monthly or yearly | 24,000 to 180,000 a year |
VAT (if the vendor is registered) | On invoices | 13% |
One point of confusion. Wordpress.org is the free software you install on your own hosting, and it is what most Nepali business sites use. Wordpress.com is a hosted service with its own plans, limits and rules. When someone quotes a WordPress website, they almost always mean the first.
For perspective, WordPress is still the most used website platform. W3Techs data dated 1 October 2026 puts it on about 40% of all websites. That share has slipped from a peak near 43.6%, as more sites use other tools or none at all, but nothing else comes close.
WordPress cost by type of site
Prices below combine published Nepal price guides, quotes we see in the market and our own project history. They are ranges, not fixed prices.
Type of WordPress site | Build cost (NPR) | Timeline | Typically includes | Often extra |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Starter site | 20,000 to 40,000 | 1 to 2 weeks | Theme setup, 3 to 5 pages, contact form, SEO plugin, analytics | Premium theme, photos, copywriting |
Business site | 55,000 to 90,000 | 3 to 5 weeks | Premium theme, 7 to 10 pages, blog, on-page SEO, integrations | Custom graphics, translation, extra plugins |
Custom design site | 120,000 to 180,000 | 5 to 8 weeks | Bespoke design, up to 20 pages, speed work, multilingual option | Custom plugins, third-party APIs |
Blog or news site | 40,000 to 150,000 | 3 to 6 weeks | Article templates, categories, newsletter signup | Ad management, membership |
WooCommerce store, small | 50,000 to 130,000 | 4 to 6 weeks | Up to 50 products, cart, checkout, one gateway | Product photos, shipping rules |
WooCommerce store, established | 150,000 to 300,000+ | 6 to 10 weeks | Custom design, filters, inventory, analytics | ERP links, marketplace feeds |
Membership or course site | 120,000 to 350,000 | 6 to 12 weeks | Accounts, gated content, payments | Video hosting, certificates |
Two observations from building these.
The first 20 pages cost less than the last two features. A page with text and an image is cheap. A booking calendar or a multi-step checkout is where hours disappear.
Rush work costs extra. If you need a site in two weeks instead of six, a 20% to 40% rush premium is common.

Themes and page builders
The theme sets how your site looks and, just as important, how fast it loads.
Option | Cost | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
Free theme from the WordPress.org directory | NPR 0 | Starter sites, blogs | Limited layouts, basic support |
Premium theme (one-time licence) | Roughly USD 30 to 80, about NPR 4,500 to 12,000 | Business sites | Heavy themes with many unused features slow the site |
Page builder, such as Elementor Pro | From about USD 59 a year for one site, about NPR 9,000 | Flexible layouts without code | Yearly renewal, can add page weight, builder lock-in |
Custom theme built by a developer | NPR 80,000 to 250,000 | Unique design, speed, long-term control | Highest build cost |
On lock-in: content built inside a page builder can be painful to move later. If you plan to change platforms in three years, ask your developer how portable the layout is.
On licences: a premium theme or plugin licence should be in your name, not the developer's. If the developer's licence expires, your site stops getting updates.
Our view: for most small businesses, a good premium theme with disciplined customisation beats both extremes. A free theme with a tangle of add-ons feels cheap and performs poorly. A fully custom theme is excellent, but only worth it when design or speed is central to revenue.
Plugins: what is free and what costs money
Plugins add functions to WordPress. Many are free. Several important ones are not.
The table converts US dollar list prices at about NPR 152 per USD, the market rate in mid-October 2026. Vendors set their own prices and change them, so check before you buy.
Job | Free option | Paid option (list price) | Approx. NPR per year |
|---|---|---|---|
SEO | Rank Math Free | Rank Math Pro, about USD 84 a year | 12,800 |
SEO (alternative) | Yoast SEO Free | Yoast Premium, about USD 99 a year | 15,000 |
Page building | Elementor Free | Elementor Pro, from about USD 59 a year | 9,000 |
Speed and caching | LiteSpeed Cache (needs a LiteSpeed host) | WP Rocket, about USD 59 a year | 9,000 |
Security | Wordfence Free | Paid tiers vary | Varies |
Backups | UpdraftPlus Free | Premium tiers vary | Varies |
Forms | Contact Form 7, WPForms Lite | WPForms Pro and others | Varies |
Image optimisation | Free quotas, then paid | Imagify or ShortPixel, around USD 60 a year at higher volumes | About 9,000 |
Multilingual | Limited free options | Paid plugins, such as WPML | Varies |
A free-only stack costs nothing in licences, but someone still has to configure and maintain it. A mid-tier stack with paid SEO, caching and builder licences lands around NPR 25,000 to NPR 35,000 a year before you add anything else.
Rules of thumb we follow:
- Install fewer plugins. Every one is an update to maintain and a possible conflict.
- Never run two SEO plugins or two caching plugins together.
- Pay for a plugin only when it solves a job a free one cannot.
- Keep licences in the business's name and note renewal dates.
The exchange-rate catch. Plugin renewals are billed in dollars. The rupee has weakened against the dollar over the past year, and in April 2026 Trading Economics reported it down about 8.7% over twelve months. A renewal that cost NPR 8,000 last year can cost noticeably more this year. Budget a small buffer.
Hosting a WordPress site in Nepal
WordPress is a database-driven application, so hosting quality affects speed more than people expect.
Hosting type | Typical cost (NPR per year) | Suits | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Shared hosting, Nepal data centre | 2,000 to 8,000 | Small brochure sites | Cheap, can be slow under load |
Shared or managed WordPress hosting, international | 5,000 to 20,000 | Business sites | Better tools, often faster for global visitors |
VPS | 12,000 to 60,000 | WooCommerce and busier sites | Needs someone to manage the server |
Cloud hosting | 20,000 to 200,000+ | Large stores, custom builds | Highest cost and control |
Questions to ask your host or developer:
- Where is the server, and does it use a CDN?
- Are daily backups included, and how do I restore one?
- Is there a staging site for testing updates?
- Who has root or cPanel access, and is it in my name?
- What happens at renewal? Introductory prices often jump.
Moving hosts later is possible, but do it carefully. Our website migration checklist explains how to switch without losing email during DNS changes. Domain and hosting prices are covered in more depth in our website development cost guide.
Who builds it: freelancer, agency or DIY
Beginner freelancer | Experienced freelancer | Agency | DIY on WordPress | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Typical WordPress business site (NPR) | 5,000 to 25,000 | 40,000 to 120,000 | 80,000 to 250,000 | 0 to 15,000 plus your time |
Hourly rate for changes | 800 to 2,000 | 500 to 3,000 | 1,500 to 5,000 | Not applicable |
Design quality | Template-heavy | Good to strong | Strong, with a designer | Depends on you |
Speed, SEO and security work | Often thin | Varies by person | Usually covered by a team | Easy to miss |
Continuity if someone leaves | High risk | Medium risk | Low risk | You are the support desk |
Best for | Tests | Small to medium sites | Revenue-critical sites | Hobby and learning |
Hourly rates are from published Nepal price guides and are indicative.
Our honest take: an experienced freelancer is a perfectly good choice for a straightforward WordPress site. An agency earns its price when you need design, development, SEO and hosting handled together, or when someone must be accountable for a deadline. If you are comparing companies, see our guide to the best web development companies in Nepal.
AlpineRoot's WordPress packages
We publish our WordPress prices. These come from our pricing page as of 2 November 2026, in NPR. They may change, so check the page before you plan around them. Details on the service page: WordPress development in Nepal.

|---|---|---|---|
Price (NPR) | 19,999 | 59,999 | 139,999 |
Design | Responsive, mobile friendly | Premium design theme | Custom WP design and graphics |
Pages | Starter site | Up to 7, including blog and misc pages | Up to 20 |
CMS | WordPress CMS | WordPress CMS | WordPress CMS |
SEO | Basic on-page SEO, initial SEO plugin setup | On-page SEO for 3 pages | Premium on-page SEO and speed optimisation |
Extras | Contact or lead form, Google Analytics | Extra plugins as needed, third-party integrations | WooCommerce or other business plugin (subject to scope), WPML multilingual, social and news feeds, custom features, API integrations |

What these prices do not include: hosting, domain, business email, paid plugin licences beyond what is agreed, photography and ongoing maintenance. Those are separate lines, and the budgets below show them.
For a real example, our work on Himal Dental Clinic is a WordPress development project. The client's Clutch review rated quality, schedule, cost and willingness to recommend at 5.0. Client-reported ratings are the client's view, not an independent audit. More work is in the portfolio.
Cost of common WordPress features
This is where quotes diverge. Indicative add-on costs on top of a base site:
Feature | Indicative add-on (NPR) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Contact form and WhatsApp click-to-chat | 0 to 3,000 | Usually in the base build |
Blog setup and categories | 5,000 to 25,000 | Often included in mid-tier packages |
Nepali and English (bilingual) | 15,000 to 40,000 | Plus translation and Unicode font checks |
WooCommerce setup | 30,000 to 100,000 | Depends on product count and options |
Payment gateway (eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, ConnectIPS) | 8,000 to 25,000 each | Merchant onboarding and fees set by each provider |
Booking or appointments | 30,000 to 150,000 | Calendar, availability, confirmations |
Membership or login areas | 40,000 to 200,000 | Roles, protected pages, payments |
Speed optimisation | 8,000 to 30,000 | Caching, image work, code cleanup |
Security hardening | 5,000 to 20,000 | Login protection, firewall, backups |
Migration from an old site, with redirects | 5,000 to 40,000 | Protects existing search rankings |
Custom plugin | 40,000 to 200,000+ | When no existing plugin fits |
SEO and schema setup | 10,000 to 50,000 |
These are estimates from typical scoping, not a rate card. The same feature can cost half or double depending on how it is built.
Nepal-specific details that add real work:
- Nepali text. Unicode fonts must render correctly on old and new phones. Legacy fonts such as Preeti need conversion.
- Local payments. If customers pay online, local gateways matter more than the theme.
- Bikram Sambat dates. Some sites need BS date support for notices, events or forms.
- VAT-ready invoices. Stores need correct invoicing. See the tax section in our main cost guide.
WordPress vs custom code: a three-year view
The question people really ask is not "what is the cheapest build?" It is "what will this cost me over three years?"
Here is an illustrative comparison for a business site. The assumptions are ours, not a quote, and the scope is not identical: WordPress handles content editing by staff easily, while custom code gives more freedom on design and performance.
Cost item (NPR) | WordPress business site | Custom code (Next.js with headless CMS) |
|---|---|---|
Build | 60,000 | 160,000 |
Hosting per year | 10,000 | 20,000 |
Domain per year | 2,000 | 2,000 |
Paid plugin licences per year | 15,000 | 0 |
Maintenance per year | 36,000 | 48,000 |
Running cost per year | 63,000 | 70,000 |
Three-year total | 249,000 | 370,000 |
WordPress: 60,000 plus 3 times 63,000 is 249,000. Custom code: 160,000 plus 3 times 70,000 is 370,000. The custom route costs about NPR 121,000 more over three years in this example.
What the money buys:
- WordPress: easy self-editing, a huge ecosystem, many available developers, faster to launch.
- Custom code: tighter control over speed and design, fewer third-party plugins to maintain, better for unusual features.
A restaurant, clinic or consultancy rarely needs custom code. A booking platform or SaaS product usually does. See our custom website design in Nepal page for the other path, and the website development cost guide for the full comparison.
Maintenance and security costs
WordPress is software. Software needs updates. Skipping them is the most common way small sites get hacked or broken.
Maintenance plan | Monthly cost (NPR) | Typically includes |
|---|---|---|
Basic | 2,000 to 5,000 | Core, theme and plugin updates, backups, uptime monitoring |
Standard | 5,000 to 15,000 | Basic plus content edits, bug fixes, small changes |
Premium | 15,000 to 40,000 | Standard plus speed work, SEO tasks, feature additions |
Enterprise | 40,000+ | Dedicated support, response times, monitoring around the clock |
What maintenance protects you from:
- A plugin update that breaks the contact form during a campaign.
- An old plugin with a known vulnerability.
- A server problem with no recent backup to restore from.
- A renewal that lapses and silently disables a premium feature.
If you do not pay for maintenance, you pay later, usually in an emergency.
Hidden costs specific to WordPress
Hidden cost | Typical range (NPR) | Why it appears |
|---|---|---|
Premium plugin renewals | 5,000 to 40,000 per year | Billed in USD, usually yearly |
Premium theme or builder renewals | 5,000 to 15,000 per year | Updates and support stop if it lapses |
Business email | 3,000 to 15,000 per user per year | Not part of hosting or the build |
Photography and copywriting | 10,000 to 90,000 | The theme does not write your content |
Translation | 800 to 3,000 per page | Needed for Nepali versions |
Payment gateway onboarding | 8,000 to 25,000 per gateway | Plus per-transaction fees |
Staging site | 2,000 to 10,000 per year | Safer testing of updates |
Speed tuning after launch | 8,000 to 30,000 | Plugin-heavy sites often need cleanup |
Staff training | 5,000 to 15,000 | So you can edit confidently |
Changes after sign-off | 800 to 3,000 per hour | Beyond included revision rounds |
Legal pages | 3,000 to 15,000 | Privacy, terms, refund policies |
A WordPress quote of NPR 60,000 can become NPR 140,000 in year one once these appear. Ask about each line before signing.
Three worked WordPress budgets
These are complete year-one budgets using our published packages and the tables above. Assumptions:
- Prices are in NPR and exclude VAT, except the VAT line.
- VAT is shown on the base package only, to keep the arithmetic simple. Other invoices may carry VAT too.
- Photography, plugin licences, gateway work and hosting tier are assumptions, not quotes.
Budget 1: simple brochure site (Basic WP Site)
Item | Cost (NPR) |
|---|---|
Basic WP Site (published price) | 19,999 |
Domain (.com) | 2,000 |
Hosting, one year | 5,000 |
Business email, 1 user | 3,000 |
Maintenance, 12 months at 2,000 | 24,000 |
VAT at 13% on the base package | 2,600 |
Year-one total | 56,599 |
Year-two running cost | 34,000 |
Budget 2: clinic or local business (Business WP Site)
Item | Cost (NPR) |
|---|---|
Business WP Site (published price) | 59,999 |
Photography of premises and team | 15,000 |
Domain (.com) | 2,000 |
Hosting, one year | 10,000 |
Business email, 3 users | 6,000 |
One paid plugin licence (for example SEO or caching) | 9,000 |
Maintenance, 12 months at 3,000 | 36,000 |
VAT at 13% on the base package | 7,800 |
Year-one total | 145,799 |
Year-two running cost | 63,000 |
Budget 3: bilingual site with a WooCommerce shop (Advanced WP Site)
Item | Cost (NPR) |
|---|---|
Advanced WP Site (published price) | 139,999 |
One local payment gateway integration (allowance) | 15,000 |
Product photography (allowance) | 20,000 |
Domain (.com) | 2,000 |
Hosting, managed or VPS, one year | 20,000 |
Business email, 3 users | 6,000 |
Paid plugin licences, including multilingual (allowance) | 25,000 |
Maintenance, 12 months at 6,000 | 72,000 |
VAT at 13% on the base package | 18,200 |
Year-one total | 318,199 |
Year-two running cost | 125,000 |
Payment gateways charge their own transaction fees, which depend on your agreement with each provider and are not included.
The pattern: the build is roughly 40% to 60% of year-one spend. The rest is everything around it. That is why the cheapest build is not always the cheapest year.
Red flags in cheap WordPress quotes
Red flag | What can go wrong |
|---|---|
"WordPress site for NPR 5,000 in two days" | Nulled themes, copied designs, hidden malware |
Premium theme or plugin supplied "for free" | Probably pirated, with no updates and a security risk |
Domain, hosting or licences in the developer's name | You cannot move or control your own site |
No admin login given at launch | You are locked in to the developer |
No staging site or backups | One update can take the live site down |
Heavy page builder stack, no speed testing | Slow on mobile data, poor Google performance |
No written scope or itemised quote | Disputes about what was included |
Vague answer on revisions | Endless changes billed by the hour |
Everything paid upfront | No leverage if work stalls |
Guaranteed number one Google ranking | No honest vendor can promise it |
Milestone-based payment is the safest structure: a deposit, a payment on design approval and a final payment on launch. Agree the exact split in writing.
Is WordPress the right choice for you?
WordPress is a strong default, not a universal answer.
WordPress fits well when | Consider something else when |
|---|---|
You want to edit pages and posts yourself | You need a complex web application with custom logic |
You run a business site, blog or small store | You need real-time features or heavy user dashboards |
You want many developers able to maintain it | You want the absolute fastest possible page performance with minimal upkeep |
Budget is moderate and the timeline is short | Your site is a single page that rarely changes |
You need plugins for SEO, forms and WooCommerce | You are building a marketplace or SaaS product |
For a single campaign page, a landing page is often cheaper and faster than a full WordPress site. For an existing site that looks dated but works, a website redesign can cost far less than rebuilding.
Questions to ask a WordPress developer
Question | What a good answer sounds like |
|---|---|
Which theme and plugins will you use, and are the licences genuine? | Named products, licences in your name |
What happens to the site if I stop paying for the builder or plugin? | A clear answer on what breaks |
Will you set up a staging site and automatic backups? | Yes, with a restore test |
How will you test speed on mobile and slower connections? | Real device tests and measured scores |
Who owns the domain, hosting account and admin accounts? | You do |
How many revisions are included? | A number, in writing |
Can I edit pages myself, and will you train me? | Yes, with a handover session |
What is included in post-launch support, and for how long? | A stated period and scope |
How do you handle security updates after launch? | A maintenance plan with a price |
Is VAT included in the quote? | A direct yes or no |
Vague answers now tend to mean surprise bills later.
How to lower your WordPress cost
Tactic | Typical saving | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
Launch a smaller site first, then add pages and features | 30% to 50% of the upfront cost | Plan the roadmap |
Use a good free or low-cost premium theme, lightly customised | 20,000 to 80,000 | Less unique |
Supply your own text and photos | 10,000 to 50,000 | Takes your time |
Keep the plugin list short | Lower renewals and fewer conflicts | You must resist feature creep |
Choose free alternatives where they do the job (for example free SEO and caching options) | 10,000 to 25,000 a year | More manual setup |
Bundle design, development, SEO and maintenance with one vendor | 15% to 25% | One vendor dependence |
Give a realistic deadline | Avoids 20% to 40% rush fees | Slower start |
Savings figures are indicative.
Spend on the pages that win customers: the homepage, service pages and contact path. Save on sliders, animations and pages nobody visits.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a WordPress website cost in Nepal?
A WordPress website in Nepal usually costs NPR 20,000 to NPR 140,000 to build. Starter sites are at the low end, 7 to 10 page business sites are around NPR 55,000 to NPR 90,000, and custom or WooCommerce sites reach NPR 120,000 and above. Add hosting, domain, plugins, email and maintenance on top.
Is WordPress free to use?
The WordPress software is free. The website is not. You still pay for hosting, a domain, a developer's time, often a premium theme or plugins, and ongoing maintenance.
What is the cheapest WordPress website in Nepal?
A basic WordPress site from a beginner freelancer can cost NPR 5,000 to NPR 20,000. Our published entry package, Basic WP Site, is NPR 19,999. Be careful with very low prices, which often rely on pirated themes and skip testing and handover.
How much does WordPress website maintenance cost in Nepal?
Basic maintenance usually costs NPR 2,000 to NPR 5,000 a month, covering updates, backups and monitoring. Standard plans at NPR 5,000 to NPR 15,000 add content edits and bug fixes. Premium plans can reach NPR 40,000 a month with speed and SEO work.
How much does WordPress hosting cost in Nepal?
Shared hosting is around NPR 2,000 to NPR 8,000 a year. Managed or international WordPress hosting is roughly NPR 5,000 to NPR 20,000. VPS costs NPR 12,000 to NPR 60,000 a year and suits WooCommerce and busier sites.
How much do WordPress plugins cost?
Many are free. Paid ones are billed yearly in US dollars. Examples at list price are Rank Math Pro at about USD 84, WP Rocket at about USD 59 and Elementor Pro from about USD 59, which at roughly NPR 152 per dollar is about NPR 12,800, NPR 9,000 and NPR 9,000.
How much does a WooCommerce store cost in Nepal?
A small WooCommerce store with up to 50 products typically costs NPR 50,000 to NPR 130,000. Established stores with filters, custom design and integrations run NPR 150,000 to NPR 300,000 or more. See our ecommerce website cost guide.
Is WordPress cheaper than a custom website?
Usually yes on build cost. A WordPress business site might cost NPR 60,000, while a custom-coded equivalent might cost NPR 160,000. Over three years the gap narrows because WordPress carries plugin licences and heavier maintenance, but it generally stays lower. Custom code is better when you need unusual features or maximum performance.
How long does it take to build a WordPress website in Nepal?
A starter site takes one to two weeks. A business site takes three to five weeks. A custom design or WooCommerce store takes five to ten weeks. Late content from the client is the most common reason for delay.
Do I need to pay VAT on a WordPress website in Nepal?
If the vendor is VAT registered, 13% VAT applies to domestic web development services. Ask whether the quote includes VAT and whether you will receive a VAT invoice. Confirm details with your accountant.
Is WordPress good for SEO?
WordPress can be set up very well for SEO, with clean URLs, editable titles and good plugin support. The platform does not rank a site by itself. Speed, content quality, structure and links matter more. See SEO services in Nepal and SEO pricing in Nepal.
Is WordPress secure?
WordPress is secure when kept updated and configured properly. Most problems come from outdated plugins, pirated themes, weak passwords and missing backups. A maintenance plan reduces that risk a great deal.
Can I edit a WordPress website myself?
Yes, that is its main strength. After handover you can usually edit pages, posts and images without code. Ask your developer for a short training session and a written guide.
Should I use Elementor or a custom theme?
Elementor is fast to work with and flexible, but it adds a yearly licence and can add page weight. A custom theme costs more to build, loads faster and avoids lock-in. For most small businesses, a well-built theme with a page builder used carefully is a reasonable middle path.
How much does a bilingual Nepali and English WordPress site cost?
Bilingual setup typically adds NPR 15,000 to NPR 40,000, plus translation at around NPR 800 to NPR 3,000 per page. It also needs Unicode font testing and layout checks. Our Advanced WP Site package lists multilingual support (WPML).
What happens if I stop paying for a premium plugin or theme?
The site keeps working, but you stop receiving updates and support. Over time that becomes a security and compatibility risk. Keep licences in your own name and track renewal dates.
How much does it cost to redesign a WordPress website?
A basic refresh can start around NPR 30,000, a full redesign around NPR 70,000, and a larger overhaul around NPR 160,000, depending on pages, features and migration needs. See website redesign in Nepal.
Who owns the WordPress website after it is built?
You should. Get in writing that the domain, hosting account, admin logins, design files and licences are in your name, apart from third-party licences that stay with their vendors.

How we put this guide together
Sources and method. Market ranges combine published 2026 Nepal price guides, our own package prices and what we see in project scoping. Where sources disagreed, we widened the range instead of choosing one. Plugin prices come from vendor list prices as reported in 2026 plugin and pricing roundups, including SEOJuice's plugin guide and Elementor pricing reviews. WordPress market share comes from W3Techs data as reported in October 2026. Exchange rates use the market rate of about NPR 152 per USD in mid-October 2026, and the April 2026 rupee movement comes from Trading Economics. Tax details are summarised in our main cost guide.
What the numbers are not. They are indicative ranges, not a rate card or a promise. Add-on estimates, the three-year comparison and the savings percentages are our estimates from typical scopes. Plugin vendors change prices, and exchange rates move, so verify before you budget.
Reviewed: November 2026. We update this guide when prices or rules change materially. If you spot something out of date, tell us through the contact page.
